Meeting #1 – Sept. 15, 2009
Journalism Lounge – 5 p.m.
1) Speak! on rabble.ca
- Sachin will be reporter for this week.
- Will be covering UN International Peace day on Sept. 21
- Sarah Mens has a contact for a possible interview
2) Some exec members will be going to Burma VJ on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Bloor Cinema. We will meet in the Journalism Lounge at 5:30 p.m.
3) Train the Trainer conference on Sat., Sept. 19 and Sun., Sept. 20. We have some extra spots open. Will send out application from head office if anyone is interested.
4) Jennifer Hollett speaking at Ryerson University on Tues., Oct. 6. All the rooms in RCC are booked already. Alex will book a room in Oakham house on Sept. 16. Will make poster by next meeting to put up around school.
5) Need to find journalists to contact for our panel in November on the rights of and responsibilities of reporting international news. Wendy Mesley is a possibility as well Peter Bregg.
6) Epic Party will be held in February. We will finalize date next week.
7) We made amendments to the constitution to make it accurate for the 2009/2010 year. We will vote on these amendments next meeting.
